The UK Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, on 8 September 2008, launched a consultation on the European Commission proposal to recast Council Directive 94/45/EC on the establishment of a European Works Council (EWC) or a procedure in Community scale undertakings for the purposes of informing and consulting employees. Deadline for responses: 6 October 2008.
