Denmark's consumer rights organisation Forbrugerrådet Tænk vowed to keep cosmetics regulation out of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations, saying it was worried the European Union would 'sell out' its sticts standards.

It organisation considered the distance between regulations between the two sides to be so wide that harmonisation of the rules would be impossible. According to their position, the EU had already banned 1,378 chemical substances from being used in cosmetics while this was only the case for 11 in the United States.
