Summary: Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/119, which amends the list featured in Regulation (EU) No 269/2014 concerning restricting measures in respect of actions undermining threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Further information: The Council of the European Union adopted on 28 January 2020 the decision to add seven persons to the list of those subject to sanctions over actions undermining the territorial integrity of Ukraine. These new designations come as a consequence of the organisation of Russian local elections in Crimea and Sevastopol in September 2019. The decision broughy the total number of persons listed by the EU to 177. In addition, the European Union imposed an asset freeze on 44 entities under this sanctions regime. The measures consist of an asset freeze, meaning that all of the assets in the EU belonging to these entities are frozen and EU persons and entities cannot make any funds available to them. |
