A PAN-EUROPEAN body has criticised the 'growing contradiction' between the EU's demands that the wider world respect human rights and lack of scrutiny of its own institutions' activities.
Hans-Christian Krüger, deputy secretary-general of the 44-nation Council of Europe, believes there is no justification for the EU's continuing failure to allow its laws to be examined by the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
