Court maintains Spanish king’s sister Cristina as suspect in tax fraud case

El País and other news sources reported on the 7 November 2014 that Princess Cristina de Borbón, the sister of Spain’s King Felipe VI, was likely to be tried in court alongside her husband, Iñaki Urdangarin, as part of the so-called Nóos corruption case.

The court case began on the 11 January 2016 with preliminary hearings. The formal trial was likely to begin on the 9 February 2016.
