Summary: Transport ministers of the riparian states of the Danube river met for the first time in Luxembourg on 7 June 2012 on the initiative of the European Commission. Ministers agreed on a declaration setting out a number of commitments and reasserting existing obligations to maintain the fairway to a good standard. There was also an agreement for a new meeting and further coordination was decided through the structures of the Danube Strategy and the Trans-European Transport Network Coordinator for Inland Waterways. |
