Data Access – Optimizing the Policy Framework for a European Data Economy

Summary:

The Digital Single Market (DSM) strategy released in May 2015 culminated the long-term objective of fostering the emergence of a functional data driven economy in Europe. The agenda has received priority status under the Juncker presidency and aims at creating a
clear legal framework and removing existing barriers to the movement of data, in order to safeguard Europe’s position as a world leader in the digital economy.
