David Cameron quits politics

The United Kingdom's former prime minister David Cameron announced on 12 September 2016 his resignation as a member of the House of Commons.

Mr Cameron stated his decision was to avoid being a distraction to the government headed by Theresa May, and indicated his desire to build a life outside politics.
