Thousands of day-trippers will find it simpler to bring cheap alcohol and cigarettes back to Britain after Customs & Excise lost a High Court case challenging the legality of its seizure procedures yesterday. The judges who heard the case said 'Prima facie, individuals and their excise goods must be free to travel across internal frontiers of the European Community without being impeded and delayed by checks for excise duty purposes' .
