Decision (EU) 2018/1675 on the mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund following an application from the Netherlands

Summary:

On 20 July 2018 the European Commission presented a proposal for a Decision on the mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) following an application from the Netherlands. The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union adopted the Decision on 2 October.

In February 2018 the Netherlands submitted application EGF/2018/001 NL/Financial service activities, requesting a financial contribution from the EGF following redundancies in the financial services sector in the regions of Friesland, Drenthe and Overijssel.

Following its assessment of this application, the Commission concluded that the conditions for awarding a financial contribution from the EGF were met, and proposed to mobilise the EGF for the amount of €1,192,500.
