Decision (EU) 2018/2059 on the position to be adopted within the EEA Joint Committee concerning the amendment of Annex IX to the EEA Agreement

Council Decision of 29 November 2018 on the position to be adopted on behalf of the Union concerning a decision of the EEA Joint Committee to amend Annex IX (Financial Services) to the EEA Agreement.

The Agreement on the European Economic Area (the EEA Agreement) entered into force on 1 January 1994. The EEA Joint Committee was established to ensure the effective implementation and operation of the EEA Agreement.

The EEA Joint Committee is to adopt two decisions amending Annex IX in order to incorporate Regulation (EU) 2015/847 (the Transfer of Funds Regulation) and Directive (EU) 2015/849 (the Fourth Anti-Money Laundering Directive). These decisions extend the already existing EU policy to the EEA EFTA States (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein).
