Decision (EU) 2018/7 on the mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund following an application from Finland

On 12 June 2017, Finland submitted application EGF/2017/005 FI/Retail for a financial contribution from the EGF, following redundancies in the retail sector in the regions of Lansi-Suomi, Helsinki-Uusimaa, Etelä-Suomi and Pohjois-ja Itä-Suomi.

Following its assessment of this application, the Commission concluded that the conditions for awarding a financial contribution were met, and on 23 October 2017 adopted a proposal for a Decision to mobilise the EGF to provide the amount of €2,499,360.

The European Parliament and the Council approved the proposal on 12 December 2017.
