The EEA Joint Committee aims to amend Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement in order to allow the EEA EFTA States (Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein) to participate in the Union actions related to Decision (EU) 2019/420 on a Union Civil Protection Mechanism as of 21 March 2019, in order to improve the Union's response to natural and man-made disasters.
