Summary: Council Decision of 18 February 2019 concerning the United Kingdom's wish not to take part in the adoption of the recast of Regulation (EC) No 377/2004 on the creation of an immigration liaison officers network. Further information: In accordance with the United Kingdom’s wish to participate in some of the provisions of the Schengen acquis, the UK took part in Regulation (EC) No 377/2004, later amended by Regulation (EU) No 493/2011. In May 2018, the European Commission proposed a further amendment of Regulation No 377/2004 in the form of a recast. On 1 October 2018 the United Kingdom notified to the President of the Council its wish not to take part in the recast proposal. As a consequence the United Kingdom will cease to participate in the immigration liaison officers network from the date of entry into force of the recast proposal. |
