Declaration signed by Canada and the European Union (EU) in July 2019, which sets up an Ocean Partnership aimed at improving conservation and sustainable use of the ocean.
The partnership agreement includes commitments to combatting the negative effects of illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fisheries, marine pollution and climate change. It also aims at helping to facilitate the sustainable development of marine and maritime sectors and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly the Sustainable Development Goal 14.
