Declaration by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the alignment of certain third countries with Council Decision (CFSP) 2017/621 of 31 March 2017 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Libya

The Council of the European Union decided on 07 June 2017 to extend the sanctions against Libya - targetting three persons - until 2 October 2017.

The Council first decided to impose these sanctions on 1 April 2016. The persons were viewed as obstructing the implementation of the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA) of December 2015 and the formation of a Government of National Accord in the country. The sanctions were renewed in September 2016.
