Denmark to Build Underwater Link to Germany

Denmark wants to build a tunnel under the Fehmarn Belt, the 18km strait between Germany and Denmark, at a cost of over €5bn. The project took a big step forward on the 1 February 2011 when the Danish parliament agreed to move ahead with the plans. But locals on the German side are unhappy about the project.
