Date: 15/02/1996 John Iversen, Ritt Bjerregaard's former spokesman who recently moved into calmer waters by becoming a Euro MP, must be glad he changed sides when he did. After Bjerregaard unveiled the Fifth Action Programme on the environment, Iversen was quoted in the Danish press as saying that the programme was far from adequate. He obviously got the habit of such plain speaking from his Commissioner, but there is no truth in the rumour that he is planning a diary of life behind the scenes during his first six days in the European Parliament. |
