Divide and Rule: how EU separatist movements are ringing alarm bells in Scotland

If Belgium splits in half, it will be the cause of great celebrations amongst nationalist groups from one end of Europe to the other, argues Struan Stevenson MEP and what’s more Scots, like the Flemings in Belgium, will decide that they would have a greater voice in EU affairs and better representation in the corridors of power in Brussels, if they were to become independent. The UK will break up and the great game of ‘divide and rule’ which has all along been the driving force behind EU integration will have claimed another scalp. We must not let it happen.
