Divided but influential? The Exiting the European Union select committee

The Select Committee on Exiting the European Union was formed in the United Kingdom House of Commons in 2016 following the outcome of the EU referendum. Chaired by former International Development Secretary Hilary Benn, it was in many ways an outlier in the world of Commons committees. Philip Lynch and Richard Whitaker discussed what made it so unusual and analysed how it had operated since its inception
