On 15-16 June 2001 the European Council met in Gothenburg for the concluding summit meeting of the Swedish Presidency. While the theme of the Stockholm Summit was employment, in Gothenburg the focus was on the other two main priorities of the Swedish Presidency: enlargement of the Union, and environment and sustainable development. |
