to help the Palestinians build up their economy over the next five years. The US promised to increase aid by 365 million ecu while Austrian Foreign Minister Wolfgang Schüssel said the Union would give more than 410 million ecu over the same period. The money will be used to improve infrastructure and create new jobs in the Palestinian areas of the West Bank and Gaza.
