ECB Annual Report 2019

Summary:

The Annual Report describes the tasks and activities of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) and reports on the Eurosystem’s monetary policy. It is usually published in April of the following year and is presented by one of the ECB’s Executive Board members to the European Parliament at a public hearing.

This year's remarks relate to the ECB’s activities in 2019 and were finalised before the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The economic situation and the ECB’s policy actions evolved substantially since that point. The European Parliament's relevant committee adopted an Own-Initiative Report concerning this document in December 2020. The report was discussed at the plenary session in February 2021.
