ECB chief hits at steel tariffs

Wim Duisenberg, President of the European Central Bank, said on 7 March 2002 that the US decision to impose tariffs on steel imports would have a negligible effect on the eurozone economy, but warned that it risked provoking trade protectionism around the world.
