ECB clears path to higher rates

Articles and features on the monthly meeting of the ECB Governing Council, Frankfurt, 9 June 2011. There was no change on interest rates in June, but the European Central Bank was seen to be on course to raise interest rates again in July 2011, but had left open whether further hikes would follow later in 2011 and kept in place its exceptional support for banks in Greece, Portugal and Ireland.
