Summary:

A meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council was held on 23 May 2017. The agenda included the following items:

• Adoption of general approach on proposed Directive on taxation dispute resolution mechanisms;
• Discussion on proposed Council Directive for a common corporate tax base (CCTB) in the European Union;
• Discussion and adoption of conclusions on the in-depth reviews of macroeconomic imbalances in 13 Member States, as well as on the implementation of the 2016 country-specific recommendations (CSRs);
• Exchange of views on two reports concerning the movement of capital in the European Union;
• Briefing on the outcome of meetings held by different international organisations and groupings;
• Adoption of joint conclusions with representatives of Turkey and the western Balkans region in the framework of the Economic and Financial Dialogue.
