Economic recovery to a greener economy: mobilising ICT-based innovations

This EPC Working Paper by Peter Johnston and Waldo Vanderhaeghen, is very timely as it gives concrete proposals of how ICT can play a key role in making Europe a more energy-efficient, low-carbon economy, as outlined in the Europe 2020 Strategy. The report says critical ICT infrastructures are needed, for example for carbon-accounting or a 'smart power grid', outlines the innovations ICT could introduce in transport, logistics, smart buildings and green cities, and argues that the EU needs a coherent framework to bring together its initiatives for smart green growth.
