Economists’ expectation of euro entry falls

According to economists at the HSBC Bank, financial markets indicate expectations of Britain joining the euro are receding as a result of the lack of any movement in the opinion polls. HSBC said the most likely date for euro entry implied by the markets had been put back - from early 2005 to early 2006.
