Election campaigns kick off in Germany

Preview and reports of the regional (land) election in Lower Saxony in January 2013, plus further regional elections in Bavaria and Berlin later in 2013 and the federal election in Germany in September 2013. The January election was seen as a rehearsal for the autumn federal vote.
