Electrical goods makers face huge bill for recycling

Businesses making electrical and electronic equipment will be forced to pay up to £500m a year to recycle old products under UK government proposals to implement the European Union WEEE directive in the UK. On 25 July 2006 the Government launched a consultation on the key proposals to be introduced from 1 July 2007.
