Endorsement of proposed package regarding the mid-term review of the 2014-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework

The European Parliament's plenary session adopted on 5 April 2017 a proposal reviewing the European Union's Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for the period 2014-2020.

The draft law increases flexibility with the framework, aiming to help tackle urgent challenges.

The mid-term review of the MFF was put forward by the European Commission in September 2016. The Parliament confirmed in the following month that its starting point for negotiations was a resolution adopted in July 2016. The Council of the European Union agreed on a compromise text in March 2017.
