Summary:

A meeting of the Environment Council (ENV) was held on 20 December 2021. The agenda included the following items:

• Update on progress concerning the Fit for 55 legislative package, followed by policy debate on relevant files;

• Briefing by the Council Presidency on a workshop on the reform of REACH Authorisation and Restriction;
• Update by the Council Presidency and the Commission on the latest international meetings;
• Briefings by national delegations on coordinated action concerning the regulation of plants obtained by new genomic techniques, the third clean air forum, and the mobility package in the context of the European Green Deal;
• Presentation by the French Council Presidency on its priorities in relevant fields.
