Summary:

A meeting of the Environment Council (ENV) was held on 21 March 2013. The agenda included the following items:

• Policy debate on proposed directive on indirect land-use change;
• Policy debate on proposed amendment to the environmental impact assessment directive;
• Debate on draft regulation on access to genetic resources and the sharing of benefits arising from their utilisation;
• Exchange of views on the review of the REACH system for the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals;
• Exchange of views on the Rio+20 follow-up process and the post-2015 framework;
• Adoption of draft law on new venture capital framework;
• Adoption of draft energy infrastructure regulation.
