Esma probes agencies’ views on banks

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the pan-European markets regulator launched a probe in 2012 into the way the big three credit rating agencies evaluate banks to determine if the process is sufficiently rigorous and transparent. It expected to report its findings by the end of 2012.
