Catches in the NE Atlantic by EU-25 Member States have decreased steadily by a total of 30% in the period 1995-2005. The North Sea accounted for 29% of the EU-25 catch in the NE Atlantic in 2005 followed by the Baltic Sea with 23%. Pelagic fish species dominated the catches of the EU-25 in 2005 with the Atlantic herring and the sprat to the fore. |
