Two environmental groups, Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace, say they have documents which show a double standard on the safety of genetically-modified organisms in the European Commission. They accuse the Commission of telling the public GMOs are safe but admitting to safety concerns in a report to the World Trade Organisation. The WTO is hearing a complaint against European bans on GMOs. |
