The 19th bilateral summit between the EU and China will take place on 1-2 June 2017 in Brussels. The aim was to advance on the strategic partnership between the EU and China.

Trade, climate change and migration were to be the main issues to be covered during the summit. It would also be an opportunity to discuss foreign policy and security challenges.

European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker represented the European Union. China was represented by Prime Minister Li Keqiang.

The 12th EU-China business summit took place in the margins of the summit. The summit provided a platform for discussion on the economic relationship between China and Europe.
