Article reports that leading companies from the European Union have attacked proposals December 2009 for the bloc to go beyond existing commitments to cut greenhouse gas emissions at the UNFCCC climate talks in Copenhagen.

BusinessEurope, the industry group, said the EU 'must not increase in any way' its 20% commitment without a full global deal that was legally binding on developing countries.
