The Council proposed in July 2013 that the European Globalisation Fund (EGF) should have a budget of some €1bn for the period 2014-2020. Ministers want to broaden the scope of the Fund to include those hit by the economic crisis. The European Commission had proposed €3bn for the EGF over 2014-2020. The 2007-2013 EGF budget was €3.5bn. |
