EU ends impasse on Lebanon force

Europe finally agreed, at an Extraordinary General Affairs and External Relations Council, Brussels, 25 August 2006, to send thousands of troops to Lebanon, so resolving an impasse over who would lead and staff the new United Nations monitoring force.
