EU faces struggle in corporate tax plan

About eight European Union countries were expected to have told the European Commission by the deadline date of the 18 May 2011 that they were concerned that proposals to change the EU's corporate tax system would infringe principles of national authority.

Although the objections are not likely to be a make-or-break factor for the tax overhaul plan, the number received and the range of countries involved may indicate the struggle EU officials face as they pursue the scheme.
