to finish building two nuclear reactors, a European Commission official revealed this week. However, Norbert Jousten, of the Commission's nuclear safety unit, stressed that Kiev would have to meet a number of conditions on nuclear safety and financing. Under a deal struck with Ukraine, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Euratom, the Commission's nuclear safety fund, would supply up to 70&percent; of the money for completing two reactors which would replace the last working unit at the contaminated Chernobyl site.
