EU information handbook 1998:
The EU Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium has recently published the eleventh edition of its 'EU information handbook'. The handbook is essentially a guide and directory to the EU Institutions and related agencies, missions and delegations, as well as other appropriate international organisations in Europe and elsewhere, and NGOs.

For each organisation the guide provides up-to-date information on the function, structure and staff, with full contact details including direct telephone and fax numbers, e-mail and web-site addresses, where available. Particularly useful features include a map of Commission locations in Brussels and details of various advisory committees, fora and task forces within the Commission.

In addition to this information, the handbook also contains short sections outlining the functioning and decision-making processes of the EU, sources of information and background on the US Government.

In its concise form at the handbook packs a mass of useful and practical information and can be thoroughly recommended.
