Book abstract:

This book is designed as a reference source which collates statutory legal documents without any critical commentary. This means it can be used in exams. The editors, Gavin Love and Nicholas Head, have compiled a combination of updates, amendments, cross-references, indexes and legal histories, and the material itself includes, amongst much more, the Founding Treaty texts like Maastricht, Rome, Amsterdam and Nice, and key documents on the institutions themselves. Apart from the Treaty of Nice, the legislation re-printed here deals with those laws in operation since July 2002. The work also incorporates pre-amendment material where appropriate, as well as the preambles to the material.

The documents are separated into seven sections, over eleven chapters. Broadly, these are broken down into the following categories: the Founding Treaties (with Protocols), Institutions, the Free Movement of Goods, the free Movement of Persons, Competition Policy, Social policy (including the issue of Worker Protection and material relating to matters of Equality over Treatment and Pay), and the fundamentals of Human Rights.

The book is intended largely for students working within EU law.
