Book abstract:

This new edition provides comprehensive and up-to-date coverage of fundamental legislation relating to EU law, incorporating developments from the Treaty establishing the European Community in 1957 through to the Treaty of Nice in 2001.

Materials are grouped under the headings of

• Founding treaties (including relevant Protocols)
• Institutions
• Free movement of goods
• Free movement of persons
• Competition policy
• Social policy (covering employee protection and equal treatment)
• Human rights

Main additions to this edition are the texts of the EU and EC Treaties consolidated for the amendments introduced by the Treaty of Nice, including the new single Protocol on the Statute of the Court of Justice, and the text of Regulation 1/2003 establishing the revised and devolved EC competition law regime. The range of competition materials has been expanded at the expense of some of the less used materials in the sections on the Institutions and on mutual recognition of qualifications.

The work will primarily interest students reading European Union Law.
