At an informal meeting of justice and interior ministers on 09 July 2015, an overall agreement was still not reached to redistribute refugees and asylum seekers coming to Europe. They agreed to resettle over 20,000 asylum seekers, but negotiations remained to increase that number.

Ministers hoped a deal would be possible in the next meeting, scheduled to take place on 20 July 2015.
