A report published in March 2016 by the Scottish Parliament European and External Relations Committee concluded that its members were 'convinced that there is a positive case to be made for EU membership in Scotland'.

The European and External Relations Committee conducted an inquiry on the February 2016 package of EU reforms and the June 2016 referendum on the UK’s membership of the EU. The committee’s report focussed specifically on the implications for Scotland of the reform package and the referendum.
