Article reports that the push to establish a single European Union-wide patent regime was set to gain some further momentum in November 2010 as a group of EU countries asked the European Commission to consider introducing the measure even if all 27 member states do not sign up through using the 'enhanced cooperation' procedure.

However, Europe was urged by senior politicians and officials to break the political deadlock over a single European Union-wide patent regime after further ministerial talks failed on the 10 November 2010.
