EU warned market directive threatens media freedoms

The European Publishers' Council has written to Frits Bolkestein, European Commissioner for the Internal Market, complaining about European Union plans to introduce a Directive on Market Abuse, fearing that the rules would threaten press freedom and place too many restrictions on financial journalists.
