The European Commission has warned Germany that it faces legal action if it goes ahead with plans to ban online betting and internet-based lotteries. The warning comes after the EU had also criticised Denmark, Finland and Hungary for blocking foreign betting firms. In January 2008 Europe's betting industry made a formal complaint to the EU against a German ban on online gambling. |
